Link Consulting was internationally recognized by ORACLE in the ORACLE Open World 2011 in S. Francisco, USA.
Link Consulting was internationally recognized by its partnership with Oracle, being considered the second best Middleware partner in EMEA (EMEA Partner specialization Award – second place runner up). Adding to this award Link was also awarded with a prize for the contribution in BPM (Oracle Partner Community Award for Outstanding BPM 11g Contribution in 2011). These prizes were distributed in the event ORACLE Open World 2011, that took place in the beginning of October, in S. Francisco, USA.
According to Prof. José Alves Marques, President of the Management Board, “Link Consulting has been following for many years an internationalization strategy based on an innovative and differentiating offer. Projects in urban mobility developed in Switzerland, Belgium and in some other countries, are evidences of the growing importance of Link Consulting’s international activity, currently representing around 30% of the group’s total activity. Receiving these two awards from Oracle’s international structures also represents the recognition of the excellence while developing projects using state of the art technology. These results contributed to a new international recognition, providing Link Consulting with current new business opportunities outside Portugal.”
José Pires, responsible for BPM and SOA offer in Link Consulting, mentions “Link Consulting was one of the first companies worldwide to develop and start the production of projects with Oracle BPM 11g technology. The experience gathered for several years in BPM and the technical skills of the consultant team, contributed most to the outcome of the Project, which in turn were key to the prizes awarded. Link Consulting was also distinguished for identifying a very interesting opportunity to Oracle, to migrate the entire installed base of users from Oracle Workflow to Oracle BPM. This opportunity follows on from one of the projects, which was precisely the migration of a solution from Workflow to BPM”.
Mário Duarte, responsible for Oracle partnership and the Link office in Spain, added “Some years ago, Link Consulting made a strategic investment in Oracle technology, particularly in the areas of Middleware, SOA, Business Process Management, Enterprise Content Management, Business Intelligence and Oracle Utilities, being currently one of the Portuguese companies with wider experience and expertise in Oracle technology in these areas. This has been recurrently recognized by Oracle, with a distinction in 2009 in SOA &ECMM TOP Partner and in 2010 with the distinction of 2nd best Industry Partner in Portugal. We are now leveraging all the know-how and solutions developed on these platforms in Europe and in Brazil. In this last country we already have projects in large customers in the banking sector and in Telecommunications.” With the results achieved while using Oracle BPM 11g technology, Link Consulting was invited to participate in the SOA & BPM Partner Advisory Council, an event restricted to about 20 companies worldwide, where a limited group of partners had the opportunity to work closely with the top responsible people on the Oracle products, including those responsible for the development teams. About this participation, José Pires mentions “with these forums the needs of our customers are taken to the heart of the product management and thus influence the selection and prioritization of new features. This reality is also an asset to our customers, as their needs are reflected in the products basic features”.
According to João Assunção, CTO (Chief Technical Officer) of Link Consulting, “While monitoring developments and having the in-depth knowledge of technologies and platforms we are capable of advising our clients on the best business solutions in a wide horizon.”
In addition to the awards received, Link Consulting also had a highly dynamic participation in what is considered Oracle’s largest annual event, which this year reached a record attendance, with 45,000 participants. During the Oracle Open World 2011, Link Consulting was responsible for presenting two sessions, one made by José Pires and related to the migration of Oracle technology applied to Business Process Management, under the title «Migrating Oracle Workflow to Oracle Unified Business Process Management Suite» and the other related to Oracle Utilities «Portuguese Gas Transmission Company's Competitive Third-Party Access with Oracle Utilities» by Mario Duarte
